The Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture is holding the 24th Annual Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister’s Conference, partnering with the Seafarmer’s Conference, and, this year, the theme is “Navigating the Future: Quality and Reliability Through Innovation.”

The agenda planned for this year’s conference leaves ample time to reconnect in person for the first time since 2020. It includes:

• An overview of the global market – and how what happens around the world impacts our seafood sector at home
• Details of our most recent Nova Scotia seafood economic impact study
• A global perspective on blue economy
• Breakout sessions on a host of topics, including labour opportunities and challenges, research and development, certification programs, workplace safety, and climate change

This year’s conference will be held at the Halifax Convention Centre on Wednesday, October 12 and Thursday, October 13. It is supported by Farm Credit Canada, the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board, and many academic and industry partners.
