An app for oyster lovers

Pearl is a new app that helps you find oyster restaurants and provides lots of information about the restaurant and the oysters it sells.  Pearl’s mobile-based platform means it is accessible wherever you are and includes many cities such as New York, Boston and San Francisco.

You can search by restaurant type or oyster type/species. You can also rate the oysters you have eaten and save your favourites.

The company claims that “whether you’re a seasoned oyster explorer or a novice, Pearl will change how you enjoy seafood”.

The app and the website also serves to educate consumers about the quality and

availability of the seafood.  Pearl’s technology helps restaurants and oyster farmers be more transparent and provides consumers real-time access to shellfish information.  The Pearl app was developed to enable connections between oyster farmers, restaurants and consumers to create a better culinary experience for everyone.

“At Pearl, we want consumers to enjoy and learn about oysters in the same way people learn about and enjoy wine” Sam Asher, Founder of Pearl, commented on the website.

Pearl is free from the Apple App Store for iOS devices and an Android version is coming later this year, pearlapp.co.
