Mentorship is important, as mentors can offer advice on navigating their careers and finding a work-life balance. Women who have been mentored describe the experience and the skills they acquired as essential toolkits for their professional lives. Our panelists will answer the questions of finding aquaculture jobs, recruiting interns, and finding career mentors.

Kathleen Offman Mathisen is an experienced Board Member with a demonstrated history of working in the maritime industry. Skilled in crisis management, digital transformation, executive management, GDPR, growth strategy, international project management, negotiation, HR consulting, and coaching.


Leah Stoker
Leah Stoker, Senior Recruiter/Headhunter, AquacultureTalent, has been with the company for over two years. Established in 2016, AquacultureTalent is a global full-service, retained search, recruiting firm with offices in Norway, the U.S., France, Spain and U.K., concentrated in the aquaculture, seafood and fisheries industries. Stoker helps develop new business for the company in the U.S., sourcing positions and professionals to fill key roles for companies in the aquaculture, seafood and fisheries industries.


Tina Garlinski-Gonsky
Tina Garlinski-Gonskyis a human resources professional working to promote a great place to work and build employee engagement. With over 15 years in human resources, she has extensive experience in recruitment and retention strategies, performance management in both union and non-union workplaces, benefit administration, HRIS implementation, program development, facilitation and training.She has a background in natural resource development and direct experience in working with Indigenous organizations in B.C., building positive, mutually-beneficial relationships with external partners.
